((OOC: knew i was forgetting something...))
It was October, a week before halloween and Blackberry wandered aimlessly through the park, listening to her Cd player. She'd asked the elderly ladies who looked after her if she could have the day off (the ladies owned a coffee house and Blackberry worked there), and they'd agreed. There was plenty of help for the day, it being a non school day. She briefly wanted someone to talk to, someone her age or close enough, but the moment passed. Really, she was a loner sort. She just missed her onee-san.
Coming to a tree, Blackberry sat beneath it, and took out her sketch book she'd brought with. There was a drawing she was still trying to improve that wasn't working for her. It was the eyes, as usual, they were her worst nightmare. And the eyebrows; they weren't so hard to figure out, it was that they determined the expressions in the eyes and if they weren't quite so... Blackberry sighed and changed cds on her cd player. She listened to alot of 80's music, her very favorite. Currently it was 'Africa' from Toto. ' The wild dogs cry out in the night as they grow restless longing for some solitary company...' Appropriate. With that she began to work on her drawing, smiling a bit.

For Koko, taking a walk--if that's what you wanted to call it--felt refreshing; moreso than anything else in the whole world. She felt totally at peace and didn't have to think about much except the nature around here...true, it was scarce in some places, but she was sure it was in human nature to corrupt their planet. She wanted to help them.
That day, since she was in public (even though that public was a less popular, deeper side of the park) she was wearing her hair up in pigtails, so that she might hide her ears a little better. The ribbons tying the pigtails up were rather large, but it seemed that large bows were a fairly normal fashion in Japan, so she didn't worry too much over it.
Making use of her floating hop-skip walk, awkward as it may look, she quietly made her way though the forested area of the park, to where it started to become a little less dense. Koko stopped cold for a moment; there, sitting against a tree, was a human.
...Well, of course there would be a human there, humans did populate the earth, after all. It was just startling. She looked the girl over and felt a sort of lonely peacefulness emanating from her. Ignoring, as she always did, her awkward leg situation, she slowly approached the girl.
"Good day," she greeted with a warm smile. "Excuse me, because you look rather intent, but what are you drawing?"

Blackberry heard a girl's voice breaking through the previous silence. It startled her. Normally she could hear people creeping up on her, she learned to watch her back. She glanced up and studied the girl before her. The girl looked younger, and had ridiculously large ribbons tying up her pigtails, but the effect was rather cute. She herself had her hair usually tied up in a ponytail with a rather large red ribbon, which she did today. She didn't think she looked as cute-sy as this girl though. Blackberry got the impression that the ribbons may be trying to hide something. She only figured that because she had a younger "sister" in the gang who liked to wear huge ribbons to hide her ears, she had a habit of wearing her cat ear headband. Actually Blackberry liked to do that too once in a while. She finally answered though.
" Good day to you too, I was just trying to perfect a drawing, I can never seem to get eyes quite so," Blackberry answered, shrugging. Wondering why she just told a complete stranger her drawing problems. Then she also noticed something else about the girl before her. Her left leg. But she kept quiet, it wasn't nice to blurt out everything that went through one's mind, even an innocent question. She hoped the girl didn't notice, it was a quick glance that one does when analyzing someone. And Blackberry did that alot. She hated staring, and she hated looking someone in the eyes, which is why she didn't look at the girl's eyes when she answered but diverted her gaze.
